Episode Synopsis

Dana has prepared a Power Point presentation for the rest of the group on what she has learned about Dusk Lords and vampires. Hoping to use Lauren's clairvoyant abilities to locate the Dusk Lords they believe to be operating in Los Angeles, Ethan suggests the group go to the remains of the Paradise Theater, the place where they first encountered the Dusk Lord Talan and where Sekhmet's sarcophagus was buried.

At the theater Lauren tries to tune in on the various psychic energies she feels around her. Little happens until she looks at Patrick, then she is thrust into a vision of Patrick's first visit to the theater. Lauren watches as the vision shows the death of Patrick's friends Peter St. James and 'Helsing' Jackson and the capture of Keri by Talan (as shown in the second season episode "The Paradise"). The vision continues and Lauren is able to see Talan take Keri back to his mountain retreat, where he proceeds to transform her into a Dusk Lord. As Keri rises from the pool of dark liquid transformed the vision ends, but Lauren has seen enough to know that Talan's house is somewhere in the San Gabriel Mountains outside of Los Angeles.

The group splits up to locate the house, with Lauren going with Patrick in his car and Jalen, Dana, and Ethan taking Jalen's SUV. The search does not go well and the two groups are still searching after nightfall when Dana spots a young, dark haired woman in a white dress walking along the dirt road. Jalen stops the SUV and Ethan starts talking to the woman, and he soon realizes she is not entirely sane. She is talking about hearing voices calling her and the others want to leave her alone until she asks if Ethan can hear the voices since he can see things just like she can. The group realizes that whoever this woman is she must have some kind of psychic abilities, and maybe she is hearing some kind of psychic call from Sekhmet. This theory becomes more likely when the woman gets in the back of the SUV next to Dana, who realizes their hitchhiker has no pulse. As the woman, Drusilla, guides them up a side road Ethan calls Patrick to let him know what they have found.

As they approach the house at the end of the road, Jalen pulls the SUV over out of site and he and the others let Drusilla head to the house on her own. Scouting ahead, they see several cars parked outside the house, including a hearse (probably the same one that took the kidnapped vampire away). Patrick and Lauren arrive on the scene as Jalen sneaks up to get a better look at the house. He sees that there are several people (vampires or Dusk Lords?) inside, and that someone is playing loud rock music in the main living room, which sits out over a steep hill, held up by two large concrete pillars. Jalen returns and the group debates what to do next. Finally they decide that it would be safer to wait until dawn so they move the cars further back and crash until sunrise.

Ethan volunteers to take the first watch and once the others are asleep, though Jalen is only faking, Ethan sneaks out of the car and heads towards the house. Sneaking in via the garage, Ethan makes his way into the kitchen, where he can hear the music, and voices including Drusilla's, at the other end of the house. Ethan also hears voices closer, and peeks through a door into the dining room where he sees more vampires. He sneaks out into the entry hall and hears Keri and another vampire talking in a study. Not wanting to risk anything more he sneaks back out through the front door and heads back to the others.

Around 4 a.m. another car arrives at the house. Inside is the vampire Alexander and two other vampires. They are carrying a long object wrapped in cloth. Jalen wakes the others and they decide to attack the house. Their plan involves Dana transforming into a werewolf and she and Patrick using their supernatural strength to knock down the pillars, collapsing the front of the house. They begin the attack, but the pillars are stronger than they anticipated. Several vampires, including Alexander, come outside to see what is happening and Patrick and Dana are spotted. The others race in and Lauren uses her telekinesis to toss several of the vampires over the side of the hill. Alexander is able to stop his fall and heads back up where he begins fighting Patrick and Dana. Eventually the group is able to break away, though it takes an act of will for Dana to fight her werewolf urges and stop fighting Alexander. As the group flees in their cars Sekhmet emerges from the house and proceeds to throw one of the parked cars at the departing heroes. Patrick is able to escape from his car at the last minute as the massive projectile slams into it. He jumps into the SUV and the group escapes.

The vampires prepare to pursue, but Sekhmet orders them back into the house. Alexander has successfully retrieved the Sceptre of Ra and it is imperative that they complete the next ritual. Sekhmet comments that by the dawn of the next day her followers need never fear sunlight again.

Memorable Quotes

Ethan: Thankfully, Jalen bought us these camera phones.

Ethan: Help the helpless.
Jalen: What? Where did you hear that?

Jalen: I'm nine inches away from a crazy lady who might bite me.
Ethan: Also, we picked up a hitchhiker.

Dana: Don't look at me, I'm a teaching assistant.
Ethan: Uh-huh.
Dana: ... and I have an axe.

Lauren: I don't need to be next to you to shove that phone somewhere uncomfortable.
