Though still trying to figure out exactly how they will pay for it, the group starts fixing up
the old Randolph house. Lauren immediately lays claim to the main bedroom, while Jalen chooses the attic room
as his own and plans on moving his belongings out of the Oracle's place as soon as possible. Patrick and Dana
concern themselves with the contents of the basement, he with the weapons room and she with the occult library.
Elsewhere, Ethan has recovered enough from his recent drug trip to try and return to a semblance
of his life. His days long absence is causing him trouble at work and with his girlfriend, Tina, who is annoyed
that he hasn't been returning her calls. Something in the back of his mind tells him he missed something major
while he was out of it, so Ethan gets in touch with Dana. He gets her to meet him in a bar and lets Dana fill him
in on recent events. Once Dana has filled Ethan in on the house and how they obtained it, Ethan tells her the details
of what happened to him on Halloween, how he summoned the ghosts to himself and dispatched them before the portal
closed. He also tells Dana that the ghost of his dead fiance, Julie, stayed behind that night to haunt him. Ethan
then explains to Dana how Julie died, and how he gained his ability to see ghosts. Dana begins to wonder if there
is a way to remove Ethan's second sight, since its seems to almost be the result of some kind of head injury.
Back at the house, Jennifer Guerrin shows up to thank the group for rescuing her, and to ask what
she can do to repay them. A joke about needing some help around the house turns into a more practical idea when
Jennifer suggests the group get some of the other kids from Anne Steele's teen shelter to help fix up the house.
A call to Anne arranges things and soon she brings several of the kids over, in exchange for a good meal and a
donation to the shelter. By the time Dana returns from her meeting with Ethan, work has already started on getting
the house back to a livable state. Ethan goes back to work where he is warned about his recent absence. While he promises it won't happen
again, Ethan's eyes keep wandering towards the drug supply room.
That night Patrick is on his usual patrol when he spots a pair of lizard-like creatures. He tracks them
down and kills them, only to have them turn into a pair of teenagers. Patrick wakes with a start and realizes it
was only a dream, until he sees the morning paper which tells of the murder of two teenagers the night before, the
same two from Patrick's "dream". Patrick calls a team meeting and explains what happened. The group spends
the day investigating, but can't prove conclusively that it was or was not Patrick that killed the teens. The following
night Patrick puts himself under a self-imposed house arrest, with the others keeping an eye out to make sure he does
not leave during the night.
The night passes without incident, at least for the group. While it was clear that Patrick did not leave,
either voluntarily or not, while the group was otherwise occupied there were several vampire attacks across the
city during the night. In the end, the group decides to consult the Oracle for advice. At the Oracle's place the
group meets with Lorne, who takes one look at them and says there is definitely something wrong, not just with Patrick
but apparently with Ethan and Lauren as well.
