Patrick, Jalen, Dana, Ethan, and even Emma are battling a group of vampires in a dark alley.
The last of the vamps claims to be serving someone called the Red Lady, but doesn't give any more details
(or doesn't have any to give) when Patrick interrogates him so the hapless vamp gets dusted.
Once the vamps have been dispatched, Emma comments on how frequent the visions have become the last few
days. Dana surmises that the increase in violence, both mortal and demonic, is probably a continuing
sign of the approaching apocalypse. Emma feels another vision coming and collapses, Ethan rushing to
catch her. When she comes to she begins talking but not making much sense. It is Dana who is first to
realize that while it is Emma's body, her sister Lauren (whose comatose body is still in the basement
at the house) has somehow assumed control.
Lauren, in Emma's body, isn't quite sure how she got there but tells the others that
she's actually sharing the body. Emma is still "in there", and Lauren can hear her in her
head, but Lauren is in control of the body. Lauren does tell the others that she's been in a limbo-like
realm watching and tried hitching a ride on one of the visions back to the Earth realm. She was hoping
to end up back in her own body but obviously the spell Wolfram & Hart had cast was still keeping
her from rejoining her physical form. As the confusion subsides the team piles into Patrick's car and
heads back to the house.
After the group has left the alley a figure emerges from the shadows. It is Keri
Prescott, a witch and former colleague of Patrick's who has been transformed into a creature called
a Dusk Lord. Keri has been waiting for the group to leave so she and her vampire minions can retrieve
something from a nearby warehouse. Keri sets her vampires to digging up the floor of the warehouse
and they eventually uncover some kind of glowing object. Before the vamps can uncover more of the
object the light from the object incinerates them, exactly like sunlight would. Keri is disappointed
by the setback, as it means she'll have to find someone else to help dig out the object.
Back at the house, and after checking to make sure Lauren's comatose body was still
safe, the group decides to investigate the mysterious Red Lady the vampire mentioned. Ethan suggests
he and Dana do research while Patrick and Jalen cruise the demon bars for info. Dana, however, decides
she wants to tag along on the fact-finding mission. This leaves Ethan at the house with Lauren
in Emma's body. Things get awkward for Ethan because he has been flirting with Emma a lot since Lauren's
sister joined the group. It gets even more awkward when Emma, who only Lauren can hear, begins talking
about how cute Ethan is. When Lauren begins to protest Emma makes things worse be suggesting Lauren
go after Jalen, saying he is a little cute but even better he's rich now.
The information gathering in the demon underground reveals a little more info. No
one knows who the Red Lady is, but they do know that someone is organizing the vampires in Los
Angeles. Its getting harder and harder to find vampires to hire as muscle, and those that do get
hired are asking for more money, and more blood, as payment. After gathering the information the trio
get set to leave before the demon bar's strip show starts. As they leave Patrick hears the name of
the dancer, Darketja, and realizes it is the flame demon who tried to kill him several months earlier
(and destroyed his car in the process). When Darketja sees Patrick she tries to run but he grabs her.
After doing so he immediately releases her, remembering that her very touch can burn. He then realizes
that her skin is normal temperature, not burning hot as it was last time. Darketja tells him that she,
and the other fire-based demons in Los Angeles, have been gradually losing their powers in the last
few weeks. They got together and consulted an oracle and learned that the Fire Lord, the legendary
king fire demon, is apparently reclaiming all his power. Dana wonders if this Fire Lord is the demon
the Norse called Surt, who is destined to wipe the world clean with fire during Ragnorok. After
getting this information Patrick lets Darketja go, figuring the humiliation of a former top-notch
hit-demon being forced to work as a stripper in a demon dive is punishment enough for her.
Elsewhere in Los Angeles a pair of meetings are happening. In a large house in the
mountains outside the city Keri is reporting to a mysterious woman, whose face and body are out of
sight seated in a large leather chair with the back turned to Keri. Keri is reporting about the loss
of the vampires but says she has found someone else to do the digging. She introduces a feral looking
man named Adam. When Adam transforms into a dark-furred wolf-like demon the mysterious woman laughs
and says that he'll work nicely. She also decides that she'll call Adam by the name Anubis. Meanwhile
in an Irish pub a man named Brendan Hughes, who is also a werewolf, is meeting an older Irishman.
The older man tells Brendan that the object he seeks is in a museum in Los Angeles and that it will
give him the power he seeks. Brendan tells the old man that it better because he really does not like
coming back to Los Angeles. After Brendan leaves the old man starts laughing and changes shape to
reveal himself to be the sinister Mr. Locke.
With the demon informants tapped out, Patrick wants to go hunting vampires to see of
they can get anymore info on the Red Lady. It is daytime, but Patrick figures they can look for
vampire lairs and this time it is Lauren, still in Emma's body, who decides to accompany he and Jalen.
Dana stays at the house with Ethan doing research, but unfortunately the term Red Lady is too vague
to give them a lead. Their most likely hypothesis is that she is some kind of elder vampire. The trio
who have gone out manage to find a vampire lair in the sewers, but it is strangely abandoned. Back at
the house Ethan confides in Dana that he wonders if Lauren/Emma can still receive visions in their
current condition. His worries prove unfounded, as just then Lauren receives a vision showing the
sun being blacked out.
At the warehouse seen earlier, Keri has brought Adam/Anubis. He transforms into his wolf-demon
form and begins digging up the remainder of the glowing object. When he is done, the object is revealed
to be the charred remains of some kind of demon. In the center of what would have been the creature's
chest is a small glowing ember, but the light it gives off is incredibly bright, causing Keri to step
back and don a pair of sunglasses. When Keri inquires as to what to do with it, Anubis replies that
you do what you always do with the heart of your prey, you eat it and he grabs the glowing ember,
burning his hand in the process, and swallows it. At that moment a great black cloud swirls into
place over Los Angeles, completely blocking out the sun and plunging the city into darkness. Out on
the streets Patrick, Jalen, and Lauren learn that the missing vampires have been in hiding, apparently
waiting for this very moment as they spill out from alleys and buildings to attack the crowds of
people who moments earlier had been enjoying a sunny California afternoon.
While the others deal with the vampires, Ethan realizes that he is alone at the house.
Sometime after the sun was blotted out Dana snuck off without a word. Meanwhile, Dana is trying to
make her way safely to the UCLA campus, all the while trying to figure out a strange sensation she
has just started feeling in the back of her mind. Patrick and Jalen are attacking vampires, trying
to save as many civilians as possible. Lauren joins in, learning that her telekinesis seems to work
while she is in her sister's body. Near UCLA, Dana realizes that the strange feeling is getting
stronger and that it is coming from the Hammer Museum near campus.
Ignoring her fear and sense of self-preservation, Dana heads to the museum. Inside
she is drawn to one of the exhibits, one showing ancient Celtic artifacts. Inside the exhibit hall
Dana sees that she is not alone, Brendan Hughes is there in the process of stealing what looks like
a silver crown. When he sees Dana he initially seems shocked, but then comes to the conclusion that
it was fate that brought her there. Initially curious as to Brendan's actions, Dana decides it is
time to leave when Brendan breaks open another display case and takes out an ancient Celtic sword.
Dana starts to retreat with Brendan in pursuit. While chasing Dana, Brendan asks her if she knew that her last name,
Kincaid, is a Celtic word meaning warrior chieftain. He takes a swing at the fleeing Dana and cuts her,
drawing blood. He then stops chasing her and Dana turns to see him anointing the crown with her blood
from the sword. At the same time Brendan recites a Celtic enchantment and then dons the crown. When he
does he transforms into his werewolf form, but it does not stop there. A beam of silvery light punches
through the darkened sky to strike the crown. The beam seems to be drawn into the crown and soon
the sky is once again black. Brendan's werewolf form begins to grow and his right hand, severed
by Jalen a year earlier with a magic sword, grows back. Brendan proclaims that he is now the king of the
moon and its power, and consequently that of the moon's children (i.e. werewolves) is also his to
command.
Back in the streets the battle with the vampires is briefly interrupted by a small
earth tremor. Lauren/Emma collapses and when she gets up it is Emma who is back in control, Lauren is no
longer in her body or mind. At the house Ethan is startled by a noise in the basement. When he goes to
investigate he sees that it is Lauren, back in her own body and awake. But if Lauren is back in her
body that means that Wolfram & Hart's spell has been broken. At the museum, Dana stares at
the transformed Brendan and realizes that he has stolen the moon. With the sun also gone, this is
the final sign of Norse apocalypse, Ragnorok.
