A sudden quake heralds the disappearance of the moon but Patrick, Jalen and Emma take little notice as they are
still surrounded by vampires. Emma, in shock having just regained control of her body from her sister, is virtually defenceless
and the trio are vastly outnumbered when they gain an unexpected ally. A team of Wolfram & Hart operatives arrives on the
scene and helps drive off the vampires. Leading the operatives is Patrick's nemesis, Andrew Cross. Patrick prepares for a fight
but Cross calls for a temporary truce. With the disappearance of the sun and moon several of the powerful containment spells
used by Wolfram & Hart are failing, and there are dangerous things held back by those spells that are threatening to break
free. Cross has come to recruit Patrick's help in holding off these creatures while Wolfram & Hart's in-house magicians try
to create new mystic prisons. Patrick reluctantly agrees and goes off with Cross while Jalen and Emma take Patrick's car back
to the house.
At the house Jalen and Emma meet up with Ethan and the newly awakened Lauren. From Ethan they learn that Dana
snuck out of the house earlier and he has no idea where she went. Jalen calls Dana, who is desperately trying to evade the
new and improved Brendan Hughes on the UCLA campus. Leaving Emma at the house, Jalen, Ethan and Lauren hop into Patrick's car
and race to rescue Dana.
Arriving at UCLA Jalen has Lauren take the wheel of the car and he leaps out to attack the self-proclaimed
Werewolf King. The fight is decidedly one-sided, as Brendan Hughes' newly empowered werewolf form is far stronger than when he
and Jalen last battled. Meanwhile Ethan has left the car and makes a run for the university's geology department in a desperate
search for anything silver he can use as a weapon. Hoping to even out the fight, Jalen (again) cuts of Brendan's hand,
relieving him of the large sword he was wielding. Brendan's new powers however quickly regrow the missing appendage and he
resumes his assault on Jalen, nearly killing the ninja.
Desperate to get Brendan away from Jalen, Lauren guns the engine and drives straight for the werewolf. Brendan
is injured, but his enhanced powers again swiftly heal him. Digging his claws through the hood of the car, Brendan tears out the
engine before rending the vehicle in two as Lauren leaps to safety. Dana realizes that Brendan is gaining his extra strength from
the mystic power of the moon, trapped within the silver crown he is wearing. It takes all of Lauren's telekinetic strength, and
she almost passes out from the effort, but she is able to tear the crown from Brendan's head. With the source of his power gone,
Brendan returns to human shape.
Ethan, seeing that Brendan is human again, turns his attention to the gravely injured Jalen. Lauren, meanwhile,
has taken an axe and shatters the crown. With the crown destroyed the spell is broken and the moon returns to the sky. The full
moon. Dana looks up in horror and warns her friends to run away, as she begins to convulse. The secret Dana has kept from them
for over a year is finally revealed as she transforms into a werewolf!
