With no place of their own, Lauren and Jalen have been living in
Ethan's apartment. Lauren is still trying to come to terms with the life she now
finds herself in, and to drive the point home she receives a vision from the Powers
That Be. The vision shows what appears to be a drug deal between two gang members
interrupted by a shadowy creature that attacks the gang members.
A quick investigation shows the group that the attack actually
happened the night before, the vision was to let them know that something
supernatural was involved. According to news reports there was one witness to the
attack, an old derelict who raved about a monster and a girl.
Realizing the derelict was referring to a young girl who has been
missing for two weeks, the group tries to locate the derelict. The group locates a
Reverend Desmond Morris, a priest who runs a mission near where the attacks occurred,
and they learn that homeless people have been disappearing in the area for some time
now. Reverend Morris is able to direct the group to the derelict from the TV reports,
a man named Louis Garmond.
Finding Louis the group learns more about the attack, enough for
Dana to figure out that the creature was a Dybbuk. Louis directs the group to where
he believes the creature's lair is, beneath an abandoned theater. The group make their way
through several tunnels before finding the missing girl, still alive. On their way
back, they are attacked by the Dybbuk. While the others get the girl to safety,
Patrick and Jalen are able to kill the creature.
After returning the girl to her family, the group meets at the Blue
Plate Diner for pie and Lauren wonders what her life has become.
